Since 1979, Heartwood Landscaping Ltd. has been creating thoughtful, enduring outdoor spaces across South Surrey, White Rock, and the Fraser Valley. Founded as a family business and grown into one of the region’s most trusted design–build landscaping firms, we are known for combining strong craftsmanship with a personalized, collaborative approach.

At Heartwood, we see landscaping as more than just planting or stonework — it’s about designing spaces that people truly live in and enjoy. Our projects range from intimate gardens and custom water features to expansive estate landscapes. While many of our builds focus on luxury outdoor living—pools, entertaining areas, courtyards, and signature gardens—we also take pride in smaller projects that are crafted with the same attention to detail and care.

Founder Colin Stewart built Heartwood Landscaping into a trusted name, earning recognition as a Street of Dreams winner along with awards for Pool and hot Tub Council of Canada , BCLNA achievements, Georgie Awards, and community honours. His dedication to craftsmanship and timeless design set the foundation for Heartwood’s reputation.

His daughter Samantha Stewart, a graduate of KPU’s Horticulture program, has expanded that legacy with training in landscape design and expertise in 3D rendering, giving clients a clear vision of their future spaces. Samantha and the support of Heartwood’s talented and dedicated crew continues to grow while staying true to its mission of creating lasting, exceptional landscapes.

Design & Build

Every project begins with thoughtful planning. Our team provides CAD drawings, 3D renderings, and detailed site plans, so clients can clearly see their vision before construction begins. From grading and drainage to stonework, planting, and lighting, our crews manage all aspects of site preparation and build, ensuring lasting results.
